Promoted Tweets are beginning to appear in Twitter’s search results. The rollout of Twitter’s advertising platform has commenced.
Good or Bad?
If a business can’t make money, it’s just charity of some kind anyway. It will surely collapse once its pool of capital is drought, even it’s serving billions of people around the world.
As long as Twitter remains their transparency in “capitalization”, things should work fine for the co-founder, the angels and the twitterer around the world. See the present Google. =)

Just a side note: business model with Ad.s (whatever kind) seems so suitable for social media with free usage, i just wonder if there has any other possible solutions on this business.
So we can now search Twitter and Google “side by side” via this new born baby Twoogle! Even more, in fact, Twoogle allows you to search on other SE simultaneouly as well!! Brilliant!
Potential Opportunities:
Here’re some ideas we can think of based on this new toy, and hopefully there will be some bright guys to visualize these ideas someday:
1. Multi-SEO & Multi-SEM Analysis
While Twoogle provides the ability to search multiple Search Engine simultaneously, this also means that we may now perform analysis on different SEM campaign, because all user interactions are now be able to be captured and trapped in the same source, Twoogle. It also implies that we can now compare the campaign in different channels much easier as we may now have a “standard” or “common measurement” among all these channels.
2. Marketing Campaign Coverage & Diverseness Analysis
- Do you know how “deep” does your campaign go online?
- Do you know how many “additional” BUZZ are generated from one channel to anther ones?
- Do you think that running a HKD10,000 campaign on Twitter will generate more BUZZ / organic search on Google, or running the same campaign on Friendfeed will generate more BUZZ / organic search on Google?
- Which channel should you choose to execute the campaign, especially when your budget is low, yet will be able to bring you additional exposure on OTHER channels?
Well, though questions, but luckily, now we have Twoogle. =)
